Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about visiting Gineclinic

How to book, what the first visit is like, opening hours, insurers and how to get here: what you ask us most before coming.

How do I book an appointment?

In three ways: on the online booking portal, at any time; by phone on (+34) 934 515 100, during opening hours; or by email to gineclinic@gineclinic.com.

Can I book if it's my first visit?

Yes. On the online booking portal you register, choose your specialist and book a time, even if you have never been to the center. If you already have a Gineclinic record, log in with your details. Or, if you prefer, call us directly on (+34) 934 515 100 and we will give you an appointment.

What is the first visit like?

Each visit is personalized, with the time each case needs. If you have previous reports or test results, bring them: the professional will decide which tests can be done during the consultation and which need to be done at specialized centers, such as mammograms or bone density scans.

Do you offer video consultations?

Yes, for very specific cases, but never for the first visit, which is always in person. If you prefer one, mention it when you book.

Can I get a same-day appointment if it is urgent?

Yes. Call us on (+34) 934 515 100: the professional will assess how urgent it is from the information you give us and, if needed, we will see you the same day.

Do I need a referral to book?

No. You can book directly with the center, by phone or through the online booking portal. If an insurer or another specialist has referred you, bring the report to your first visit.

What are the center's opening hours?

Monday to Thursday, 9:00 to 20:00, and Friday, 9:00 to 14:00.

What languages does the center work in?

Catalan, Spanish and English. Not every professional sees patients in all three languages: if you need one, tell us when you book.

What does the gynecological check-up include?

The check-up includes a clinical interview, an examination, an ultrasound and a cervical smear when due according to your age. The exact content is decided by the professional in each case. Sometimes further tests may be needed, such as biopsies, colposcopies or others.

Can I have blood tests at the center?

It accepts these insurers: Adeslas, Aegon, AXA, Caser, Cigna, Divina Pastora, FIATC, HNA, HNA SC, Mapfre, Mutua General de Catalunya, MutuaCat, Occident, Sanitas. More information.

Do you see pregnant women?

We do not provide pregnancy or birth follow-up. If you need it, we can recommend an obstetrics team we work with. If you are pregnant, we can see you in endocrinology, nutrition, psychology and pelvic floor care, in coordination with your obstetrician.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You can bring whoever you like, both to the consultation and to examinations, unless the professional advises otherwise for clinical reasons.

Do you offer fertility treatment?

No. We work closely with a leading fertility center in Barcelona. At Gineclinic we focus on gynecology and the specialties that support it: endocrinology, nutrition, rheumatology, pelvic floor physiotherapy and psychology.

Can I choose to be seen by a female gynecologist?

Yes. The gynecology team has one male and four female gynecologists. When you book, mention your preference. You can also ask us by phone.

Can I always see the same professional?

Yes. At Gineclinic we make it a priority for you to always be seen by your usual professional. Even so, you are completely free to change specialist for scheduling reasons or personal preference.
