History
The history of Gineclinic
Gineclinic was founded in 1995 by Dr Fernando Puig on Carrer de Provença in Barcelona, with a firm commitment to providing excellent care in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
To raise the quality of care for its patients, in 2003 the center moved to its premises on Carrer de Lázaro Cárdenas. This move marked the start of a new stage, with more gynecologists joining and new services of childbirth preparation and pre- and postnatal physiotherapy.
In 2022, Dr Xavier Marquès joined Gineclinic's management team, bringing his extensive experience and carrying forward a family tradition of leading figures in Catalan gynecology (going back to his grandfather, Dr Vicens Marquès Bertran, and his father, Dr Leonardo Marquès Giraud). From then on we grew significantly, adding gynecologists dedicated to key areas: Dr Lara Quintas (pelvic pain), Dr Radharani Jiménez (menopause), Dr Inés Torras (breast conditions) and Dr Irene Sánchez Martínez.
At the same time, we opened our doors to an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together distinguished professionals from other areas of medicine and health: Dr Carlos Puig (Endocrinology), Dr Estefania Moreno (Rheumatology), Maria Valero (Nutrition), Mailyn Solarte (Physiotherapy) and Silvia Rodríguez (Psychology).
In 2026, Dr Marquès took over as managing and medical director of Gineclinic, consolidating an integrated approach to medicine centered on women, while also opening our services to men's health.
Today, Gineclinic's philosophy is the same as on day one: warmth and empathy in the way we treat people, with high-quality diagnosis and treatment from a team of leading professionals in Barcelona.
